Imagine being at the gym. You’re sweating, running, and your hair and face are covered in oil. Then you get home and discover a huge red zit on your cheek the next morning. Where did it come from? How did it happen? How can you prevent it? These are just a few of the questions I’ll be answering in this post.
How to Prevent Exercise Acne
Q: What is exercise induced acne?
A: Exercise induced acne is acne that is accumulated during exercise.
Q: How does it happen?
A: It happens when you exercise and your pores get completely clogged with waste and harsh sweat and oils.
Q: How can I prevent it?
A: You can prevent it by removing any face makeup you have on before you start exercising. The makeup and dirt will clog up your pores and make it a nightmare for you the next morning. Leaving your makeup on is the worst possible thing you can do.
You should also make sure that you wash your face before and after the workout. I suggest using a toner or deep cleaner to release the dirt and oils from under the layers of your skin.
Make sure that you clean all your exercise equipment regularly. It’s also important to not touch your face during a workout. Use a sweat towel that is clean and gently pat the sweat off. Do not rub or you will end up spreading all the germs all over your entire face.
Do not wear the same workout clothes over and over without washing them. It can cause body acne as well as sometimes they just stink.
Be sure to take a shower immediately after working out. While in the shower, cleanse, tone, and spot treatment your face to keep the perfect skin you’re determined to have. If you cannot take a shower first thing, don’t stress. Just change out of your dirty clothes and wash your face.
